01

Map the route before selecting the system

Provide the tunnel length, section, gradient, bends, constrictions and known obstructions. A straight test route cannot establish performance through an arbitrary tunnel geometry.

02

Engineer power, communications and tether handling

The AD-400 uses an external tethered system. Review tether storage, deployment, bend contact, drag and retrieval. Verify how the complete package maintains power and communication over the intended route.

03

Tie findings to a position reference

Agree how inspection distance and location will be referenced, what uncertainty is acceptable and which instruments support it. Request actual data samples rather than relying on a positioning feature name.

04

Agree an abnormal-event recovery plan

Document the response to power or communication loss, snagging, sediment obstruction and unexpected flow. Define the retrieval equipment, access arrangements and site responsibilities.

05

Verify range against the actual mission

The official AD-400 page lists a maximum operation distance of 5 km; the supplied brochure lists 5.5 km. Neither figure is a universal guarantee. Confirm the supplied version, conditions and project acceptance test.
